Application and Admission

It’s great that you’ve chosen HKU! Find out here how to apply for an HKU degree programme. Once you’ve applied, there is usually an admissions procedure to ensure that you’ll be coming to the right place.

Applying for the 2021-2022 academic year

Good news! Despite the coronavirus, you can still apply for a programme at HKU, provided there are still places of course. The date for the admissions procedure is yet to be determined. You’ll be notified about it once you’ve applied.

Application deadlines for 2021

You can submit your application for the 2021-2022 academic year from 1 October 2020.

For most programmes, we guarantee you a place in the admissions procedure if your application is received before 15 January 2021. Applications received after 15 January 2021 can be accommodated based on availability.

Can you still apply?

Some degree programmes at HKU are very popular or offer a limited number of places. Once the programme or admissions procedure has reached the maximum number of places, you can no longer apply. Nor is it possible to take part in the admissions procedure. To find out whether there are still places available in the programme of your choice, check out the application and admissions status below.
