This edition of the concert focuses on the famous Italian madrigal Ancor che col partire by Cipriano de Rore, a Flemish composer active in Italy. The piece will be performed multiple times, each with different 16th-century diminutions by composers such as Bassano, Bovicelli, and Rognoni, offering the audience a variety of stylistic interpretations and colours.
In the second half of the concert, the programme continues with works performed by a broken consort of recorder, cello and viola da gamba, as well as solo repertoire with accompaniment, performed by students of the recorder class.
