A House of Encounters – OMAS Ensemble

In A House of Encounters, OMAS Ensemble takes the audience on a musical journey through the Landhuis. It begins with a musical dialogue between two recorders, leading the audience through medieval polyphony, Baroque, Romantic, and contemporary music, interspersed with short improvisations on wind instruments from different parts of the world.

The programme then opens into another musical landscape: Baroque dance music. With music by composers including Campra, Lully, Muffat, Falconieri, and Rebel, the audience experiences the contrast between French elegance and Italian energy, discovering how different Baroque traditions shape the character and movement of dance music.

In this way, the different rooms of the historic Landhuis become part of the performance itself, with each space opening the door to a new musical world.
