Libraries and Multimedia Libraries

HKU has four libraries and multimedia libraries, each with its own collection. In the Janskerkhof library, for example, you can find everything about theatre. And you can search for image material in the multimedia libraries. Naturally, these are places for not only research, but also working.

About the libraries and multimedia libraries

As an HKU student, you can make use of no fewer than four libraries/multimedia libraries. You can quietly work or use a computer there, but you can also borrow all kinds of materials, such as books, sheet music, CDs and magazines.

Pay attention to which library you use, as each site has a specific collection corresponding with the courses at that site. In the library in Janskerkhof, for example, you will find piles of HKU Theatre's theatre texts and theses, while the Conservatory Library houses everything to do with music, such as sheet music, CDs and DVDs.

Finding a particular book

Finding the right place in a crowded bookshelf can be complicated. Our staff will be pleased to help you find the right material.

University Libraries

HKU collaborates with the University of Utrecht. Can't find what you're looking for in our libraries? Then the University Library (UBU) may have a book, for example. As an HKU student, you may use the UBU facilities free of charge.

Still haven't got hold of that particular book? Then try looking in the Royal Library in The Hague. This is the Dutch National Library.
