New enrolment

When you are admitted to a course at HKU, you need to complete your enrolment as quickly as possible. Make sure that HKU receives all required documents in time and you arrange payment. Keep an eye on your email.
New enrolment

Arrange payment

You pay your tuition fees to HKU with a continuous digital payment authorisation. Around half May you will receive an email with the request to fill out your payment details in Studielink.

The issued payment authorisation will remain valid for future academic years at HKU. You can always change your payment details. A Q&A about filling in your payment details via Studielink can be found here.

Deadline 1 September

Your enrolment is not final until HKU receives your continuous digital payment authorisation via Studielink before 1 September, and has sent you a confirmation of your enrolment. The tuition fee will be deducted around 25 September.

Foreign bank account?

If you do not have a bank account in The Netherlands or another SEPA country, you can not pay by payment authorisation via Studielink. Go to Studielink and choose 'Other payment method' as your payment method. You will receive a message from HKU with instructions on how to arrange the payment of your tuition fees.

My employer pays

If your employer wants to pay your course, you still need to arrange your digital payment authorisation in Studielink first. You indicate in Studielink that you pay yourself. The tuition fee will be deducted around 25 September.

After that, you can ask for an invoice through sz@hku.nl. You can send this to your employer. So you declare the costs to your employer. Your employer pays the tuition fees to you and you to HKU.

No enrolment?

If you decide not to enrol for the next academic year, please withdraw your request for enrolment in Studielink before 1 September. If you have already completed your enrolment, you need to cancel it in Studielink.

Regulations

All rights and duties with regard to enrolment are established in the Enrolment Regulations.

Student card

All students at HKU receive a student card. This card remains valid for the duration of your studies.

With this student card, you can identify yourself and show that you are allowed to be in the HKU buildings and participate in exams. You are obliged to carry the student ID card with you when present at the HKU premises. The card also gives your access to the libraries, and is needed to use printers and copiers.

Additionally, the card can be used to get discounts on some subscriptions and entrance tickets.

Declaration of enrolment

After HKU has processed your registration, you receive a declaration of enrolment and a student card. This student card will be sent to your address if you live in The Netherlands. If you do not have a Dutch address, you will receive a message when your card is ready to be picked up at the Service Desk Student Affairs.

Your declaration of enrolment will be available online in your account in Osiris Student. The login details of your account in Osiris Student are provided to you per email upon or soon after enrolment.

If you have not received a student card or declaration of enrolment by the end of September, contact HKU Service Desk Student Affairs right away.
