Adjustments to Exposure programme due to heatwave

  • 23 juni 2026

HKU Exposure, the graduation festival of the young creative talents of HKU, has started! Many of our students are graduating this week, and their works can be admired at many places in Utrecht.

But unfortunately, due to the national Code Orange and Code Red weather alerts that are in force until at least Saturday, HKU is forced to take measures to ensure a safe earning and working environment, as well as for the safety of HKU Exposure visitors.

Adjustments to Exposure programme due to heatwave

Due to Code Red and Orange weather warnings, HKU is required to take measures to ensure a safe and healthy visit to HKU Exposure.

  • Friday 26/6: No HKU Exposure - The Dutch Meteorological Institute (KNMI) has issued a Code Red weather warning for Friday. Unfortunately, this means that all HKU Exposure activities scheduled for today have been cancelled.
  • Saturday 27/6: HKU Exposure programme adjusted - A Code Orange weather warning is in effect for Saturday, so the HKU Exposure programme has been rescheduled to the morning and evening. Before visiting, please check the academy programmes and the latest updates at hku.nl/exposure. The Media and Games programme will be moved to other days.
  • Sunday 28/6: HKU Exposure - A Code Yellow weather warning is currently in effect for Sunday. Under Code Yellow, no changes to the programme are planned. Extra on Sunday: Games will be featured at Bibliotheek Neude! Also, check the website for updates on the closing event, "The Treasure of Utrecht" (De Schat van Utrecht). The Media programme will be rescheduled.
  • HKU Exposure extended - There will be an extra afternoon for Fine Art at Pastoe on Monday 29 June. The Media programme will be moved to cooler days. You are welcome to visit Oudenoord on Friday 3 and Saturday 4 July.

Check hku.nl/exposure
Before you go to any Exposure activities, it is advised to check the latest news updates on hku.nl/exposure. The most recent info is posted here per academy.

It pains us that we are forced to take these measures. We fully understand the huge impact that these measures will have on anyone involved with HKU: on the graduates, their family and friends, all teaching staff and other employees that worked very hard on our beautiful graduation expo.

We hope to see you at one of the ongoing activities of HKU Exposure 2026
