O Tree performs Thy Love is Endless

O Tree is a special project by Wiek Hijmans, Bart Soeters and Mees Siderius. All three are core teachers at HKU Utrechts Conservatorium (Jazz/Pop and Musician 3.0). Their album was recorded by Dries van Elten, teacher at HKU Music and Technology. The outfits they are wearing during the concert was created in the textile workshop of HKU’s IBB. A three-metre-high tree-object, made by artist Ernst Dullemond sheds some light and ‘speaks’ the lyrics. O Tree is an ode to the tree.

Unique sound
Due to the rarity of the vibraphone, electric guitar and bass guitar combination, plus the distinct character of Hijmans’ compositions, that seamlessly blend chamber music with heavy grooves and drones, you can surely say that O Tree has a very own style. The drums that kick in now and then, adds further to the momentum and power.
