Mediterranean polyphony from the 16th century
At this concert, students from Utrechts Conservatorium take the public on a journey to the musical world of the 16th century Mediterranean region.

Under guidance of Adrian Rodriguez van der Spoel, they’ve immersed themselves for a whole week in the rich vocal polyphonic traditions of this region, with special attention to French and Spanish composers. Music from the tradition of masters such as Francisco Guerrero and Tomás Luis de Victoria prove how independent voices can be woven into an expressive and rich whole.

The concert serves as the closing spectacle of an intensive project week centred around ensemble vocals, style development and historical performance practice.

Admission is free.
