HKU's Wind Sections Day

Meet all the wind sections of HKU Utrecht Conservatory

HKU's Wind Sections Day

The HKU Sections Day is specifically intended for prospective students who are considering starting their studies in September 2026 or 2027. Perhaps you have already visited one or more open days in Utrecht and/or other cities and have a general impression of what it is like to study at a conservatoire.

During HKU Wind Sections Day, we focus on what it is like to study a wind instrument at the HKU Utrechts Conservatorium. The Wind Sections Day is all about playing. You will take a major subject (group) lesson, play together with other wind instrument players and with students who are currently studying at the conservatoire. You will also find out what you need to do to prepare well for the entrance exam and, of course, there will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions.

The HKU Wind Instrument Day will take place on Saturday 24 January from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at our locations on Mariaplaats in Utrecht. Register via the button above and indicate which department (Jazz & Pop, Classical Music and Historical Performance Practice) you are coming for and which major subject. We will then keep you informed of the exact programme.
