How often do we deliberately pause to reflect on our relationship with fast fashion and sustainability? What can we contribute to this? With the interactive installation De Zijden Steek ('The Silk Stitch' ), the collective ÉÉN-OOG challenges us to ask: who can you be in this world?

In a ‘cocoon installation’, the collective shows how working together — even through small steps — can be meaningful, by breathing new life into old materials. Old, worn, once-loved garments are unravelled stitch by stitch and rewound into new possibilities.

ÉÉN-OOG, meaning ' one-eye' is an interdisciplinary collective of students from Game Design, Game Art (HKU Games) and Interactive Performance Design (HKU Theater).

Open Call
For the installation, the students are looking for crocheted or knitted jumpers. Do you have a jumper in your wardrobe that you’re ready to part with? They would be very happy to take it off your hands. Please place the jumper in the collection box at HKU IBB or Janskerkhof. In addition, send a photo of the jumper and one sentence about what this garment means to you to: hanna.pol@student.hku.nl.

The installation is continuously open for visitors on the following days:
Thursday 12 and Friday 13 February from 19:00 to 23:00
Saturday 14 February from 14:00 to 23:00
Sunday 15 February from 12:00 to 18:00
