Historically Informed Performance Practice is the defining factor in my music. The use of historical sources informs the performance- that could be, for example, copies of historical instruments, or treatises describing musical practice. I am fascinated by research that forms my vision of the past- it informs the way I approach music-making. I aim to use this research to create concerts that offer a glimpse into a different world. I want to connect with the audience and communicate, finding the common ground that will make understandable a historical interpretation. I aim to create instances where the audience can experience a glimpse of the past, now.
