Inaugural Lecture - Professorship (Dis)Connected Technology & Creativity

In June 2025, the HKU professorship (Dis)Connected Technology & Creativity was launched. In this zine, Nick Degens and Joris Weijdom present their vision on the relationship between creative practice and technology, and outline their plans.

At the heart of the professorship is the hybrid research space or ‘laboratory’: the HKU Artistic Extended Reality Lab (AXR-Lab). This enables students and lecturers to fully experiment with new technologies within their creative practice.

The publication complements the performance lecture with which Nick Degens and Joris Weijdom presented the Professorship (Dis)Connected Technology & Creativity on Friday 27 June 2025.
