ZÉRO – mime & performance festival

MA Scenography students showcase their work during the very first edition of ZÉRO

ZÉRO – mime & performance festival

Especially for ZÉRO, MA Scenography students are taking over the Paardenkathedraal, home of Theater Utrecht. A location-specific and theatrical space, right in the heart of the city. The space, its location, surroundings and materiality will be explored. Expect installations, performances and surprising ways of exploring space – all shared with the audience, who are invited to wander, experience and look again.

ZÉRO - mime & performance festival
ZÉRO - mime & performance festival celebrates mime and performance: physical, associative, poetic and committed. The body takes centre stage. As a starting point, as a zero point, as a source of meaning. ZÉRO shows how the body tells stories, how performance can make us feel something that cannot always be explained. From small, intimate works to bold theatrical gestures, from the very personal to the political or socially charged. All this at various locations in Utrecht, from the Stadsschouwburg to Theater Kikker.

ZÉRO - mime & performance festival is an initiative of Schweigman&, Golden Palace and Jakop Ahlbom Company, in collaboration with Stadsschouwburg Utrecht, Theater Kikker and Theater Utrecht. Students from the Master Scenography (HKU) and the Mime Opleiding (AHK) also contribute to the programme.

Admission is free.
