“Rooted” uses the tree as a mirror for ourselves, inviting us to pause, be alive, within something that normally doesn’t receive enough attention.

She has never been able to settle, never found enough ground. The tree on the Moreelse Bridge is one without soil. It stands here as a link between the bustle of the city and the calmness of nature.

With the tree as a mirror for ourselves, Rooted is an invitation to pause and breathe life into something that normally doesn’t receive enough attention. When was the last time you did that for yourself?

Rooted can be seen from 9 to 31 January on the Moreelsebrug in Utrecht.
It is possible to purchase a ticket from I Light U for a walking route of which Rooted is part.
