'Near & Far' began as a duet by Jaap de Vries (Groningen) and Mandahu (Hohhot, China). After meeting at HKU, it soon became clear that music is truly the international language. With the addition of Italian guitarist Duccio, everything fell together perfectly and a musical union was created in the form of an ode to the jazz tradition, combining Dutch, Italian and Chinese roots into something entirely new.
