Erasmus+ is the European Union's programme for education, training, youth and sport for 2014-2020.
Erasmus + provides grants for a wide range of actions and activities in the fields of education, training, youth and sport. The programme gives opportunities to students, trainees, staff and volunteers to spend a period abroad to increase their skills and employability.
HKU and Erasmus+
HKU University of the Arts Utrecht (HKU) participates in KA1 Action Learning Mobility of Individuals (student and staff mobility) and in the KA2 Action Strategic partnerships project Gamebiz. In this Erasmus+ project, a model will be developed for promoting entrepreneurship in education in order to provide jobs to tackle high youth unemployment in Europe. ‘Breeding grounds for entrepreneurship’ will be set up in tertiairy vocational education in the field of games.

HKU University of the Arts Utrecht (HKU) has been awarded the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE). The charter provides the quality framework for
the European and international cooperation activities within Erasmus+.
The award of the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education is a pre-requisite to participate in Erasmus+. Erasmus+ supports the European modernisation and internationalisation agenda in higher education. In signing this charter, HKU confirms that its participation in Erasmus+ is part of its own strategy for modernisation and internationalisation.
