To be admitted to HKU Utrechts Conservatorium you must pass an entrance exam consisting of a theoretical and a practical part. These are taken separately.
Admissions in times of Corona
Due to the Corona-virus, the admissions at HKU Utrechts Conservatorium can unfortunately not be organized the way we are used to.
For the practical entrance examination, we will ask you to hand in a few video recordings. The criteria (and if applicable, the downloads) are posted below. Read carefully which requirements your videos must meet. Composition or Choir Conducting are not required to upload a video; they will be contacted separately.
Via email you will receive an e-mail with instructions on how to upload your videos. If you have not received this message at that time, please check your spam box before contacting us.
Note: If you do entrance examination for several main subjects, you will receive instructions for multiple upload processes. This way you can upload the correct assignments per main subject.
We wish you all the best with the preparations.
For questions please contact the HKU Service Desk Student Affairs via firstname.lastname@example.org or +31(0)30-2091540.

There is a limited capacity for the admissions. Here you can find more information regarding availability.
Result of the practical part of the entrance examination
The result of the entrance examination is confirmed in writing. Passing the entrance examination, however, does not necessarily guarantee placement. Due to the large number of potential students, it is not possible to place students in some courses and with some teachers. You will receive official notice from the School Director by e-mail on whether you have a place and, if so, for which course, which year and which main lecturer.
If either Dutch or English is not your native language, you need to be able to demonstrate sufficient command of the English language through a TOEFL or IELTS test.
