Tijd: 14.00-18.00 hrs

Join the symposium on the design of digital interactive children’s narratives. Organised by the Professorship Interactive Narrative Design and hosted by HKU University of the Arts Utrecht

This is the first in a series of events designed to foster dialogue between practitioners, industry and academia, aimed at enhancing collaboration on practice-based research and increased application of research results.

Enhanced forms of storytelling

The event is especially relevant to members of the publishing industry and related practitioners focused on enhanced forms of storytelling and novel types of narratives for children. Interactive children’s narratives have proliferated and have taken on many different forms in recent years. These include interactive book publications, narrative-based games for children, transmedia/augmented reality projects and interactive videos. This means changes in design and
production processes.

The Professorship Interactive Narrative Design at HKU engages these questions in its applied research. This research is led by doctoral researcher Deglaucy Jorge Teixeira, who himself has extensive experience in the publishing industry. The aim of this research is to aid in the transformation of production processes and improve professional training.
