Mensen met een psychische stoornis worden, soms letterlijk, in een hokje geplaatst. Ze zijn anders dan anderen en helaas wordt dat vaak als iets negatiefs gezien. Ik vind die afwijking van de norm juist interessant. In mijn collectie laat ik iets zien van de constant mee te dragen last, de dwang van binnenuit en van buitenaf en de frustratie die ik tijdens mijn zoektocht door een aantal psychische stoornissen ben tegengekomen.

People with mental disorders are easily stereotyped and often in a negative way. This is because they are seen as different from others, but it’s precisely this deviation from the norm that I find interesting. In my collection I tried to visualize the constant burden, the compulsion and frustration that I came across during my research into various mental disorders.
