Use link below to access Studielink and follow the application procedure for the regular Bachelor of Music course. During this procedure you will be asked whether you want to apply for the Preparatory Class. Answer this question with 'yes' and it will be recorded in your file for your entrance examination. It will be decided during your entrance examination whether you are eligible to the Preparatory Class.
In order to be admitted to the Preparatory course of Utrechts Conservatorium, you must take an entrance examination that consists of a theoretical and a practical part. The entrance examination is subject to a small charge.
The results of the theoretical part will be laid down in an advice, which is submitted to the committee for the practical examination. The outcome of the practical section will be communicated and explained to you during a personal interview.
An amount of €25 in administration and support costs will be charged for every entrance examination. This also applies per main subject (trumpet and piano is thus 2x €25). A 'no-pay-no-play' rule applies. Refunds are not given. Once we have received your application form, we will send you information on how to pay this fee.
This course is for students who are in their penultimate or final year of upper general or vocational secondary education and who wish to pursue a profession in music. It is also suitable for graduates who have not yet reached the level of the Bachelor's course. The Preparatory course prepares you for the Bachelor's course in Music.
